Date and timings for Pushkar.
How the date is fixed
Karwa Chauth falls on Krishna Chaturthi of Ashwin (amanta) / Kartika (purnimanta). The day is decided by the tithi prevailing at moonrise. When the tithi touches that time on two days, the day it covers more is used.
Calculated for Pushkar. Festival dates can differ by a day between cities and between regional traditions; your family priest's panchang has the final word.
How it is celebrated
Women eat sargi before dawn, fast without food or water through the day, gather in the evening for the Karwa Chauth katha and puja, and break the fast after sighting the Moon through a sieve and offering it water.
