This policy explains how Blogrator Web Service (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. ("BhagyAstro", "we") handles personal data on bhagyastro.com and the BhagyAstro app. It follows India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
What we collect
- Free tools (kundli, matching, panchang, calculators): birth details are sent in the page address and used only to calculate the result; we do not save them. If you ask us to email your kundli or subscribe to the horoscope, we keep your email address (and, for the newsletter, your Moon sign and language) — not your birth details.
- Account: your email address, name, preferred language, and the birth details you enter for paid reports and consultations. We sign you in with a one-time code sent to your email; we never store passwords.
- Payments: wallet recharges and report purchases are processed by Razorpay. We receive the payment status, amount and Razorpay reference IDs. We never see or store card numbers, UPI PINs or bank passwords.
- Consultations: chat messages between you and an astrologer, the birth details you share for the consultation, session times, charges and your rating or review.
- AI astrologer: the birth details you enter there and your questions and the answers, so you can continue the conversation.
- Astrologers: profile details, languages, skills, photo, PAN (for tax deduction at source) and payout details (UPI ID or bank account), and earnings records.
- Technical: a salted hash of your IP address for abuse prevention and rate limiting, and standard server logs kept by our hosting provider for security.
Why we use it
- To provide the calculations, reports and consultations you ask for.
- To run your wallet, issue invoices and meet tax and accounting obligations.
- To keep the platform safe: detect fraud, prevent spam, and handle complaints and refunds.
- To send emails you asked for (sign-in codes, receipts, reports, the daily horoscope). Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe.
Who can see it
- Astrologers see the name and birth details you share for a consultation and the chat itself. They do not see your email address or phone number. Sharing personal contact details in chat is blocked to protect both sides.
- Service providers who process data for us: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Resend (email), Razorpay (payments), Google (analytics), Anthropic (the language model behind the AI astrologer — it receives your chart summary, the name you entered and your questions, only to generate the answer) and, if enabled, Google AdSense (ads).
- Authorities when required by Indian law.
- We do not sell personal data.
Retention
Chat transcripts are kept for 12 months so that complaints and refund requests can be reviewed, then deleted automatically. AI astrologer conversations are deleted 12 months after your last question in them. Rate-limiting records of email requests are deleted after 6 months. Payment and invoice records are kept for 8 years as required by Indian tax law. You can delete your account at any time from your profile page; this erases your name, email, reports, chat messages and AI conversations.
Cookies and storage
We use one sign-in cookie (only after you log in), a language cookie, and local storage for preferences such as chart style. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are used (pages visited, device and browser, approximate location from the IP address); it sets its own cookies, Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, and you can opt out with Google's opt-out add-on. If advertising is enabled, Google may use cookies to show ads; you can manage ad personalisation at Google Ad Settings.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, or nominate someone to exercise these rights. Write to hello@bhagyastro.com. We reply within 30 days.

BhagyAstro accounts, payments and consultations are for adults (18+). Free calculators can be used by anyone, without an account.
