About Purnima
Purnima is the full-moon day that ends the bright fortnight. Many festivals fall on it — Guru Purnima, Raksha Bandhan, Sharad Purnima, Kartik Purnima and Holi among them.
How it is observed
People keep a fast or eat once, perform Satyanarayan puja, bathe in holy rivers and give charity. The Moon is worshipped after it rises.
